England international Cole Palmer has signed a new contract extension at Chelsea that sees him tied to the club until summer 2033; Palmer excelled in his first season with the Blues, contributing to 33 goals, scoring 22 times

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until June 2033. This new deal comes after a highly successful debut season with the club, where the 22-year-old recorded 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Palmer originally joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer for an initial fee of ยฃ40 million, with an additional ยฃ2.5 million in potential add-ons. He signed a seven-year contract with the option of extending for an additional 12 months.

Before his move to Chelsea, Palmer had only made 19 Premier League appearances for Manchester City. However, his breakout season in west London earned him a call-up to the England squad for Euro 2024. Although he was an unused substitute for Englandโ€™s first two matches, Palmer played in the next five games, including the final, where he scored the equalizing goal in Englandโ€™s 2-1 defeat to Spain.

Following his exploits at Euro 2024, Palmer returned to Chelsea last week after a well-deserved holiday. He made his first pre-season appearance as a second-half substitute in a 1-1 friendly draw against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been active in the transfer market this summer, signing several players, including Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, Marc Guiu from Barcelona, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City, Renato Veiga from Basel, Caleb Wiley from Atlanta United, and Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors. However, a โ‚ฌ40 million deal for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion appears to have collapsed due to issues in finalizing the contract.

Chelsea’s Premier League campaign begins at home against Manchester City this Sunday, followed by a UEFA Conference League play-off against either Servette or Braga.
